Prayer Update February 4, 2008

Terror Attack in Dimona
This morning in the southern Israel town of Dimona, at 10:30 AM in front of the shopping center, a loud blast was heard.  The first of two young terrorists from Gaza with an explosive belt had blown himself up, killing one innocent victim and injuring more than twenty.
The second terrorist was also injured in the blast. Israeli paramedics arrived on the scene and began to give him medical attention along with the other injured. It was at that moment they realized he was a terrorist still wearing an unexploded belt. They called for the police. When the police commander saw that the young man was reaching for the detonator to set off the explosive (in the midst of the crowd that had gathered), he shot him on the spot.
The two young terrorists had recorded a short testimony film a week earlier, telling of their plan to blow themselves up in an Israeli town. Members of Hamas passed out candies on the streets of Gaza in response to celebrate the terror attack. They issued a public statement declaring their "blessing" on the attack with the hope of many more in the future. The fact that the second terrorist was killed before he detonated his explosive likely saved many other lives.
It is assumed that the two terrorists passed out of Gaza into Egypt through the Rafiah crossing and then circled through the Sinai and crossed back into Israel in the area of Nizane. This potential "open" path for terrorists from Gaza through Egypt presents a challenge to Israel security. Let us pray to stop this terror path.

US Primary Elections
Tomorrow is "super Tuesday" in which 24 states of the 50 in the USA will hold primary elections. The two leading candidates for the Democrats are Barak Obama and Hilary Clinton. On the Republican side are John McCain and Mitt Romney. For those of you in other nations around the world, it is worth praying for God's will to be done in these elections, as the choice of the future US President will affect much of the world for the next years to come.

Ahavat Yeshua Congregation
We are seeing a blessed new increase in evangelism, discipleship, and prophetic gifts among our young Israelis. Thank you for your prayers for 1.) the new teen discipleship group, 2.) our congregational retreat in the desert this weekend, 3.) the need for a larger meeting place for our Shabbat service, and 4.) our Netzer training program for new immigrants.

Please PRAY for our ongoing ministry in Israel of indigenous evangelism, planting Messianic congregations, the discipleship training center, prophetic praise and prayer watches in Hebrew, and financial aid for the needy.
